Learn about GAA...
Gaelic football is one of the world's oldest games, with one of the first records dating back to 1308.
The sport resembles a combination of soccer and basketball, players may catch and kick the ball but cannot run with the ball for more than 4 steps and cannot throw the ball.
Teams consist of 15 players: 2 corner-backs, a full-back, 2 half-backs, a centre-back, 2 midfielders, 2 half-forwards, a centerforward, 2 corner forwards and a full-forward.
Games are played on a grass pitch that is 130–145 meters long and 80–90 meters wide. There are H-shaped goalposts at each end. A point is scored by kicking the ball between the posts, over the crossbar and a goal (worth 3 points) is scored by kicking the ball under the crossbar.
